June 9th: Toussaint Louverture Cultural Center’s Pre-World Cup Celebration Honoring Haiti’s Football Legacy:
Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Present, Reflecting on the Future.
This inspiring evening brought together legendary athletes, sports leaders, and community members to celebrate Haiti’s rich football history while exploring the future of the sport. The program featured Jean-Claude Désir (“Tom Pouce”), a member of Haiti’s historic 1974 FIFA World Cup team, as the honorary guest. Joining him were renowned sports broadcaster and author Patrice Dumont, former Haitian National Team captain Donet Désilus, and youth soccer coach James Louis-Charles. There was a moderated discussion along with networking, special video presentations, recognition of Haiti’s football pioneers, audience Q&A sessions, and reflections on the future of sports development in Haiti.

June 13th: TLCC World Cup Watch Party - Haiti vs. Scotland
Community members and visitors were invited to participate in the pre-watch party festivities at TLCC and then the game was live streamed in partnership with the U.S. Haitian Chamber of Commerce at the Massachusetts Convention Center. Audience members enjoyed the atmosphere as we all cheered on the Grenadye Alaso!
June 19th: TLCC World Cup Watch Party - Haiti vs. Brazil
Community members and visitors were once again invited to cheer on the Haitian National Soccer team at the pre-watch party at TLCC. We then walked over to the Boston Commons to view the game live in partnership with the U.S. Haitian Chamber of Commerce.
June 24th - Watch Party for Haiti vs. Morocco with Health Equity International
At TLCC, the Health Equity International (HEI) team cheered on Les Grenadiers as they took on Morocco! Visitors also enjoyed the art exhibits and delicious Haitian cuisine from Gourmet Kreyòl. The event promoted an evening of community, culture, and connection. There were also opportunities to connect with HEI staff and members of our community to learn about their work at St. Boniface Hospital.
